This policy explains what happens to the details you send us through this website, mainly the inquiry form used for bookings, ministry invitations, partnerships and general messages.
We handle your data in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya and its Regulations.
In short
- We only ask for what we need to reply to you.
- We use them only to reply to you, keep them private to our team and never sell them.
- We delete inquiries within 24 months of our last contact with you.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.
01Who we are
This website belongs to Florence Mureithi, gospel music minister, based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her team is responsible for the details you send through it.
Email: hello@florencemureithi.com
02Harp & Bowl registrations
Guest and volunteer registrations for Harp & Bowl 1.0 are handled by Mteule Arise, the event's organiser, under their own policy. Please read the Harp & Bowl Privacy Policy for those.
03What we collect
When you send an inquiry, we receive:
- The type of inquiry and your message
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number and organisation, if you give them (if your phone offers “Choose from contacts”, only the contact you pick is passed to the form; we never see your address book)
- The event date and location, for bookings and invitations
To keep a record that you agreed to us storing these details, we also save the time you sent the form, the wording you agreed to, the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser type.
If you share a testimony, we keep the name you give and your words. With your agreement, our team may share it on the website and at events and gatherings (for example, shown on screen), only after reading it first. Ask us at any time and we will stop using it.
Your name, email and message are needed to reply to you; the other details are optional. When you visit the site, we also count how it is used (pages visited, from which country) without storing your IP address.
04Why we use it
- To reply to you and, for bookings and invitations, to plan the engagement with you. We rely on your consent, which you give with the tick box on the form.
- To keep the site safe from spam and abuse, for example by limiting how often a form can be sent from one connection. This is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
We use your details only to respond to your message and, for bookings, to arrange the engagement with you. When we reply, we keep a copy of the reply with your message. We don't make decisions about you by automated means.
06Data stored outside Kenya
Our service providers store data on secure servers, some outside Kenya. We use providers that protect personal data to the standard the Data Protection Act requires, bound by agreements that keep it confidential and secure, with encryption while data is sent and stored. By sending the form, you agree to your details being stored this way.
07How long we keep it
We keep an inquiry for as long as we need it to reply and, for bookings, to arrange and follow up on the engagement. We then delete it, and in any case within 24 months of our last contact with you. The consent record is deleted together with it. Website usage figures are kept for up to 13 months, and backups for up to 30 days.
If something ever put your data at risk, we would tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
08Your rights
You have the right to:
- Know what details we hold about you and get a copy
- Have them corrected if they are wrong
- Have them deleted
- Object to how we use them
- Receive them in a common format so you can take them elsewhere
- Withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect what we did before)
Email hello@florencemureithi.com and we will respond as soon as we can, and within the time the law allows. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.
09Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
